I took the bus to school this morning. And guess what? I stepped on the bus that goes the opposite direction. Why? When I know full well that I stop at this side of the station when I return home! Luckily I know to ask first and manage to catch the right one heading the right direction. The idiotic part happened today and hopefully not many more times.

Harvested a few plants yesterday. So, I will try something with coriander for this evening's meal. Uh-oh, one of my experimental dinners.

Just got news that a distance relative died of the flu. He was in his 30s and have traveled in Asia with his parents. I do not have the details but I am glad that I didn't fly back this summer. Not for my own sake particularly but for my little niece and my grandma.

The full comic goes like this:
PHB (Pointy-Haired Boss): A good manager hires people who are smarter than he is.
Wally: So...Your boss is dumber than you?
Alice: And your boss's boss is dumber yet?
Dilbert: According to your theory, our CEO is the dumbest person in the company.
Wally: Unless all of you are bad managers.
Asok: Truly we are doomed either way.
PHB: This concludes the motivational part of the meeting.
Wally: I'd give you a high five but I don't like to move.

Can foot pads really make you feel better?
http://www.thedailygreen.com/living-green/blogs/recycling-design-technology/detox-foot-pads-461108

I think the placebo effect kicks in if it really seems to "work".

There's also a page on Skeptoid "The Detoxification Myth"
http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4083

From the page:
"Kinoki foot pads contain unpublished amounts of vinegar, tourmaline, chitin, and other unspecified ingredients. Tourmaline is a semi-precious gemstone that's inert and not biologically reactive, so it has no plausible function. Chitin is a type of polymer used in gauze bandages and medical sutures, so naturally it's part of any gauze product. They probably mention it because some alternative practitioners believe that chitin is a "fat attractor", a pseudoscientific claim which has never been supported by any evidence or plausible hypothesis. I guess they hope that we will infer by extension that chitin also attracts "toxins" out of the body. Basically the Kinoki foot pads are gauze bandages with vinegar. Vinegar has many folk-wisdom uses when applied topically, such as treating acne, sunburn, warts, dandruff, and as a folk antibiotic. But one should use caution: Vinegar can cause chemical burns on infants, and the American Dietetic Association has tracked cases of home vinegar applications to the foot causing deep skin ulcers after only two hours."
